PATH was co-founded by Deb Lewin and Tamara Ingram who found themselves in similar circumstances. Deb is a Naperville resident and the mother of five children. In 2012, her second oldest son entered an addiction treatment program. She met Tamara, a mother of three dealing with the same issues. They bonded over the love for their children and the pain and struggle of the disease of addiction. They met Tosca Kekish and Elisa Henley at support group meetings and together they formed PATH (Positive Acceptance Towards Healing); a group and forum to support and help overcome the stigma and challenges involved in caring for a family member with addiction issues. Nancy McHugh is a recent addition to the team and has a daughter in recovery. The current board members represent the full spectrum of the disease, from active addiction to long-term recovery.
